The university has selected three history faculty for the annual ‘top scholar’ awards.  These represent ten percent of all awards granted by the university in this academic year. Dr. Tovah Bender was honored with an award as ‘Established Faculty with Notable Gains in Student Learning and Success in the Humanities’ for her work building a community among our majors; Dr. Rebecca Friedman was honored as ‘Established Faculty with Significant Grants in the Humanities’ for her million-dollar Mellon Foundation Grant; and, Dr. Terry Peterson was honored as ‘Junior Faculty with Notable Gains in Student Learning and Success in the Humanities’ for the work designing writing assignments to promote student success in his undergraduate gateway courses.  Congratulations to all three awardees!
