Undergraduate admitted to top Medieval Program

Yanelis Suarez has been accepted to Western Michigan University’s Medieval Studies program with full funding in Fall 2022. This is one of the top Medieval Studies MA programs in the country and she will be joining Sabrina Fernandez, also an FIU alum, who will be entering her second year in the program.

History Undergraduates secure Summer Fellowships

Riley Ford, Franco Batista Garcia, and Kaleb Hernandez have been accepted to the University of Wisconsin’s Summer Research Opportunity Program. They will travel to Madison WI, all expenses paid, for approximately 2 weeks to work closely with mentors and gain skills valuable for postgraduate study.

MA Student Publishes Article

The latest edition of Tequesta, the journal published by historymiami, features an article written by MA student Iris Kolaya entitled ‘Richard Kiehnel: Master of Adaptation’ which analyzes the work of a leading south Floridian architect from the 1920s onwards.
