Richard Denis has been awarded a Goizueta Foundation Graduate Fellowship from the Cuban Heritage Collection at the University of Miami enabling him to pursue research towards his dissertation on the role of print media in Cuba from 1902-1969.

Undergraduate accepted to summer research program
Congratulations to Daniela Gutierrez, who has been accepted to the University of Georgia’s History Summer Fellows Institute. Gutierrez is one of eight students who will spend a month at the University of Georgia immersing themselves in historical research through this fully-funded program.

Doctoral Candidate co-edits issue of Journal
Congratulations to Sandra Londoño Ardila for co-editing Vol. 9.2, 2019 of the Journal of World Christianity in association with affiliated faculty member, Dr Bidegain. In addition to the co-written introductory essay, Sandra also published a significant article in the issue under her own name.
Two recent Ph.D. Graduates Secure Positions
Congratulations to both Dr. Adrian Alzate and Dr. Ricardo Pelegrin on their recent appointments. Dr. Alzate will be tenure track assistant professor at Universidad Autonoma de Occidente, a prestigious private college in the city of Cali, Colombia; Dr. Pelegrin starts as a Visiting Assistant Professor of History at Western Oregon University, a major public school.
